We have previously discussed on this blog how to set up an at-home bar cart to add to your decor and enhance your entertaining. One of the most exciting parts about setting up a bar cart is that you can style it according to the seasons. As the mercury starts to dip and the leaves begin to change color, it's the perfect time to bring your beverage area from summer to fall.
Here are some tips:
- Add a touch of nature: If you live in an area where the foliage changes colors, collect some lovely fall leaves and frame them in several shadow boxes. Hang them in a gallery wall arrangement just above the cart. You can also try arranging some small pumpkins and acorn squash in a pretty stainless steel basket for an autumnal style statement. Southern Living magazine also recommends using bigger branches as you would fresh flowers, arranging them in a lovely oblong vase.
- Consider color: It's time to pack away summer colors like pink and green in favor of deeper hues of crimson red, burnt orange, tobacco brown and eggplant purple.
- Smell the season: Stud fresh oranges with cloves (available at most grocery stores) for a deliciously scented, natural potpourri. Arrange them in a basket and place on the bottom shelf of the bar cart.
- Use vintage books: Fall is all about going back to school, so try stacking some attractive vintage books on your bar cart. You can often find inexpensive options at flea markets, garage sales and antique stores.
